Elections of our new officers

Annual Meeting 01/07/2026

As the Secretary of the Lake Charles Sail and Power Squadron, I'm emailing the members to officially announce the candidates for elective positions to be voted upon at the annual meeting to be held on January 7, 2026 at 6:00 PM.  


The candidates may be nominated (1) by the Nominating Committee or (2) by petition in writing signed by at least five active members in good standing and filed with the secretary at least 15 days before the date of election.


The Nominating Committee presented the following revised slate of candidates for elective positions:


Commander: Lt/C Clarence McCraw, S   

Executive Officer: Lt/C Travis Laughlin, S    

Administrative Officer: John Allen    

Education Officer: P/C Darrell L. Walker, AP        

Treasurer: None at this time    

Secretary: Lt/C Mollie C. Broussard, S     

Asst. Education Officer: Cher Walker    

 

Member at Large:

Howard M Davis , Eric N Larson, Brad Wentling P/D/C, Ben Garber, SN

At this date, the Commander elective position is being challenged by Cmd Fredrick Werquin, S.  The required petition in writing signed by at least five active members was submitted to the Secretary.


Election to an uncontested office may be effected by a supported motion and a ballot cast and recorded by the secretary.


Election to a contested office shall be effected by secret ballot, unsigned and cast in person.  Such elections shall be determined by a judge of election and not less than three tellers, all of whom shall be appointed by the commander.  The secret ballots shall be delivered to the judge of election and opened and inspected by the tellers, and the final results shall be tabulated and announced to the members before the close of the meeting.
